Anytime I get the opportunity to shoot a Yosemite National Park sunrise session, you know that I am there! Especially at a location as breath taking as Glacier Point. I never would have known that taking a zoo keeper into one of my favorite meadows would result in us actually getting to partake in some close up bear watching though.
(still currently kicking myself for being so scared, that I did not get pictures of the said bear)
This sweet couple has been waiting for MONTHS to have their engagement session done. Not even kidding, we had to reschedule twice since January (thanks rona). But I have to say the wait definitely paid in our favor because we were able to go to one of my favorite spots, Glacier Point. I really do not think this morning could have gone more perfect. The lighting was just absolutely PERFECT!
What was more perfect in my opinion though, was how stinkin’ sweet these two were with each other!! There is something about high school sweethearts that just make me feel all the stinkin’ feels. Even though Zoe and Jordan have been dating for SEVEN years (almost 8 this coming October) they are still completely head over heels for each other. Their playful banter, the way they would exchange certain looks; it made me feel so beyond honored to be able to capture such a special time for these two.
Now I know you are all DYING to hear about the bear watching….. After the three of us left Glacier Point, we headed down to one of my favorite meadows. (Keep Scrolling to see, it is absolutely gorgeous) As soon as we got situated and I got ready to start posing these cuties, we heard something rustling around towards the back of the meadow. At first I thought it was a deer, (we actually had one walk right up to us earlier in the session at Glacier Point) but the closer we looked we realized it was a BEAR.
Now personally, I was terrified! But Zoe, is a zoo keeper and Jordan LOVES bears so it was a dream come true for them. I wish I could say I felt the same; but I would be lying if I told you that the thought of running to my car did not cross my mind. Especially when Jordan said “I just want to chase it”. LOL All in all we all survived and were still able to get some amazing photos. Scroll to the bottom to see the one photo I was able to get of our bear watching adventures.
And in the famous words of Jordan, “TLC said don’t go chasing waterfalls, they said nothing about bears”
Soooooo much fun with these love birds on our Yosemite National Park adventure. I cannot wait to see all the amazing things to come their way.
