Yosemite Sessions

Valorie & Matt – Yosemite SUNSET Engagement

filed in

You hear me constantly talk about those gorgeous Yosemite Sunrises, so now it is time to showcase Yosemite and all of her glory at Sunset!! Valorie & Matt were nothing short of a dream to work with. Because we were able to schedule a sunset session, this means Chris actually got to go!! No daddy daycare on this gorgeous evening 😉

We met Valorie & Matt at the Fish Camp general store and drove up to the park together. This is always one of my favorite options for Yosemite sessions; because it really allows us to get to know one another before the session starts….. which always results in pure MAGIC!! The ride up was SO much fun, talking about the crazy times in the world, learning about Matt’s BEAUTIFUL little girl (who we just cannot wait to meet), and talking all things wedding.

We started this session in one of my favorite meadows on Glacier Point Road. I always have to laugh when I show couples this location because they are always so skeptical of it, UNTIL I show them the back of my camera 😉 then all of a sudden it is their favorite place in the world. The power of getting the shots right in camera to show your sweet couples, and boost their confidence is HUGE y’all. I think Matt even asked; can we just do our whole session here??! But of course Val and I had bigger and better plans 😉 a 45 minute hike of a plan to be exact.

If you guessed that our next location would be Glacier Point; you would be incorrect…. we were headed out to Taft Point!! And I could not be more excited! Our hike out to these epic clifts was one for the books, especially when Matt and Chris kept walking a mile ahead of us LOL but I have to say I was the smart one offering to carry the gear on the way there, if Chris carried it on the way back… he had NO idea what he was agreeing too LOL

If you have ever hiked out to Taft Point, you know the hike there is EASY, but the first part of the way back is not for the faint of heart (all the laughing emojis)

We spent the first part of our session just in awe; if you know, you know!!! Taft is breathtaking. It is as if time is completely frozen. I’ve never been somewhere where I feel so big, yet so small at the same time. If you haven’t been there…. runnnnnnn and book a reservation and get up there before it’s closed for a million years for road work 🙁

I will forever be in love with feeling like I’m on top of the world, especially with sweet couples like this!! Chris and I cannot WAIT to capture your big day. The countdown is ON!!!
